Map Pages Brainstorming
include reasonings in guide? probably not. too opinionated and people won't get the full point across and thus render them redundant. only do it for concrete points.
go through default/commmon sentences that will be repeated between pages and link Glossary terms (e.g. Rollout)
go through and provide references wherever possible. mp_showroundtimes is a reference for map information section
narrative statements:
- common feedback on the maps, particularly if it fell out of rotation
- popularity within a region if it is/was exclusive to a region (e.g. Metalworks NA, logjam EU/AU)
Things that would need to be constantly updated
trigger: new season
- infobox
- inclusion table
- 6v6 maps navbox
- map pool history if tournament pages aren't kept updated
Intro
- Default sentence
- Additional sentences adding normal information if needed
- Narrative statements, potentially avoiding need for history/other sections
"Product is not a truly symmetrical map"
Gullywash is a 5CP map created by Arnold.

history
developmental history, including update history if official? Would have to maintain this so prolly no?? but also it is a way to add words so prolly yes
version history
world championship column?
grey-empty class in Common.css. Use on external links section too
Table
go through entire article and make sure source code is properly laid out, tabbed, spaced etc.
guide info:
- how to find download links (serveme #1, don't do stupid links), search for mapname.bsp and .bsp.bz2
not table

changelog links, notes column?
version history either goes at top or bottom
map league inclusion table does have a comprehensive use. case in point me using them to find if maps from the all maps navbox are 6v6 maps or hl lol maps. just don't think there is a sustainable solution to keep them updated. even just as an infobox entry??
actually, if you are going to include out of rotation maps on the wiki and in the navbox, putting league inclusions is quite necessary. either stricten the criteria for maps (such as "map must be notable/have a defined history in the competitive scene") or have inclusions at least somewhere on the map pages
simply cannot include highlander in everything in this page. would have to create a secondary Gullywash (Highlander) page as this would alter inclusion history, strategy, resources, navbox
two tables. inclusion history and version history.
no version history. I don't want a fucking changelog on a wiki. only need information for maps that have been used in competitive play. do MLIT but with no templates, just a collapsible table. should already be set to collapsed? also don't include this high up the map page if no narrative in the history section. no UGC,
flythrough
Callouts
can also be done with video resources on youtube
map guide/strategy/long list of words
seems to be very prevalent on many map wikis so maybe? [1] [2] no strategy section. there is no such thing as a definitive strategy for like 80% of situations. it is such a fluid topic and can't be written succinctly to the point of being useful.
anything definitive about strategy or map characteristics/unique elements should be added. "Gullywash has only 2 entracnces to mid instead of the traditional 3". "Process mid is very dependent on height on crates". Strategy section is the only thing missing from a complete resource for a map page
Rollouts
Map overview
Large overview image with option to show:
- Control points
- Health + ammo packs
- ...
probably not feasible to do the hover thing. most important thing is to have an overview image somewhere. either in gallery, in own section or in infobox. prolly gallery. is feasible to make an edited overview image with important things marked. but idk
Map information
Gullywash is notable for having the lowest last capture time blah blah blah
Guide info:
- how to calculate capture times using harmonic number
- how to find respawn wave time using that mp command idk i forgot
- find health + ammo packs from either tf2 wiki (unreliable at times) or running around the map

Guide:
- Video needs more than 1000 views (or maybe 500?)
- Video needs to represent competitive TF2 well
- shorten video title for the table (within reason)
- youtube:
- _map_ review
- _map_ rollout
- rollout.tf _map_
- _map_ demo review
- _map_ pov
- needs comms cause there's always a fuckton
- _map_ competitive tf2
- cp__map_ XXXX
- put prem/invite in tournament area to distinguish between low level demo reviews and high level demo reviews
- once season structure project is done
Gallery
any images from research that happen to be interesting, such as previous iterations or something idk
Trivia
it is called water because there used to be water u idiot
