The Bureau is a European Highlander team that competed in ETF2L Premiership.

Team History[edit]

Origins[edit]

The Bureau was founded in 2014 for The Highlander Open. The original team name was "The Bureau of Military Science", however it was shortened to The Bureau.

The vast majority of Bureau players started playing during or after The Highlander Open.

Rise to Premiership[edit]

After The Highlander Open, The Bureau reformed to play ETF2L Season 7 in Division 5B, where Chronos switched from demoman to medic. The team underperformed throughout the season and finished 5th.

Chronos decided to reform the team and used The Bureau in UGC Season 15 to trial new players. As a result, the team lost only their first game of the season.

The team trialled players again in the Experimental Highlander One-Night-Cup #7, which lead to The Bureau picking up ixy as scout, dd5f as soldier, kuli as demo and Afirax as sniper. The new roster dropped only a single map during the ETF2L Highlander Season 9 - High and one map in the Grand Finals. Due to their first place finish, they were promoted to Premiership for the next season.

Premiership[edit]

Due to players having other commitments during the season the roster was changed half way through. Scrambled replaced Simba on heavy and Scriptzon replaced BeS on sniper. The Bureau finished in 4th place taking the last playoff spot. And ended 3rd in the season, losing to Strong Opinions in the Semi Final. After a loss to Budget Toucans in Week 1 of Season 11 and citing a lack of commitment within the team, The Bureau was disbanded.
