Attack / Defend is a standard competitive gamemode that functions somewhat like a mix of Payload and Control Point in that like Payload, in Attack / Defend, the blue team attacks while the red team defends and if the blue team caps, the red team cannot recap the control point. An example of an Attack / Defend map would be gorge. Unlike 5 gorge, there are 2 points controlled by red team at the beginning of the game. Furthermore, as stated before, it is more like payload in that red team gets a setup time to get ready for the blue attack on their control points. The teams then switch. Attack / Defend is a standard game mode in Highlander and 6v6
