Xiao is a top team from AsiaFortress, and is currently considered the strongest team in Asia.
Founded in AsiaFortress Cup 10, it had consisted of the core of both TURBO9000 and The Homely Hobos from Season 9, creating what would become the strongest team in Asia at the time. After a very dominating performance in Season 10 and winning the Grand Finals against Crescendo, cementing their first ever victory together, they continued their winning streak and established what is known as the Xiao dynasty for many seasons to come. Their dominance of Asian TF2 rivaled that of froyotech's in North America and the late Se7en's in Europe. In AsiaFortress LAN 2018, Xiao was knocked down to the Lower Bracket Finals for the very first time in its history when facing against rivals The Chess Foundation, followed by a Grand Final loss to the same team, ultimately ending their winning streak that lasted for several seasons.
Xiao had experienced many different roster changes throughout the seasons, but their most notable change was during PURE League Season 2 when the late Beyond The Summit TF2 event was announced. Legendary player teejay and former Scout main banana who were both from SVIFT AS joined the roster in preparation for the event. The team also managed to pick up 2 top Australian players from MMGP in the form of Demoman enrith and Medic lock. This version of the roster was widely regarded to be the best iteration of Xiao across its previous rosters, convincingly dominating the highest division while only dropping 2 rounds the entire season. This would have also been the very first time an Asian team is represented at an international TF2 event.
Following a 3-1 victory in the grand finals of AsiaFortress Cup 19, Xiao opted to skip the next AsiaFortress season for the first time in the team's history. Captain AiShou and mainstays 26 and tommy would all opt to retire after spending many years on top. The remains of Xiao would end up as substitutes for runner-up team McBlurry eSports, where they would subsequently claim first in AsiaFortress Cup 20. This season would be the first where Xiao would not stand atop the podium since 2015.
After the AsiaFortress format was redone from the ground up and the introduction of the new AsiaFortress Invite events, the Xiao moniker would once again be picked up in the hands of former Xiao players Teejay and Banana.

Following the Beyond The Summit TF2 event announcement, the roster faced a drastic change during PURE League Season 2 in preparation for the event, picking up teejay and banana from SVIFT AS on flank Scout and Roamer respectively, along with top Australian Demoman enrith and lock on Medic. This roster is considered by many to be one of the strongest iterations of Xiao to ever exist.

Following AsiaFortress LAN 2018, both hsr and fwishy leave to join SVIFT AS. floaty is swapped to Demoman, resulting in former The Chess Foundation Pocket Nasi taking over the Roamer role. tommy also returns to his signature role of Scout, although on flank this time. v4na and Mel from the sub roster initially filled in for Medic throughout the regular season before eventually settling on Konma nearing the playoffs.

26 returns to his Pocket role for AsiaFortress Cup 14 and the upcoming AsiaFortress LAN 2018, leaving hsr to take over the Demoman role. This season also marks the return of Xiao veteran tommy, replacing iMauriceiNoob on Medic. cloverella leaves the team as he loses interest in TF2, with renowned jumper floaty taking his place on Roamer.

Xiao experienced a roster shuffle during the first season of PURE League. Cuteman departs from the team as he retires from TF2, moving 26 and AiShou to the Demoman and Pocket role respectively. hsr makes the switch to Scout, bringing in iMauriceiNoob to fill in as Medic. However, this roster proved to be fairly ineffective, resulting in hsr moving over to Pocket and AiShou back to combo Scout.
|
teejay and kcot both stepped down from the team to pursue a career in Overwatch, resulting in up-and-coming talent AiShou filling in the combo Scout role and moving jigglesaur over to Scout to accommodate veteran Demoman Cuteman who last played in AsiaFortress Cup 7. The Medic mantle is picked up by former Soldier main hsr in place of b4it and himari who have both retired from TF2.
|
Following the departure of tommy, the team brought in legendary player teejay to fill in the combo Scout role. Former Crescendo Scout himari who was originally playing combo Scout for the team was swapped to Medic as b4it was unavailable during the playoffs.
