Templates

http://comp.tf/wiki/Template:Player_infobox see this template? I need help with how to hide a non-declared variable from templates. For example if I don't declare steam = something on the template the icon will still appear linking to http://www.steamcommunity.com/id/{{{steam}}}

Is there any way for example when we dont know the player age for the line to disappear completely of the template? Or when the player doesn't have a twitch account for the icon to disappear completly? Or when the player has no achievements instead of {{{achievements}}} appearing, completely hide the line

Hope you get what I mean.

thumbnails

I'm looking into the thumbnails issue, 2 days ago I was already trying to fix it but with no luck, it's a problem with imagemagick I think, I am contacting my host to see what I can do.

--Kaneco (talk) 12:12, 5 July 2013 (WEST)

I think so, at least I have everything configured correctly on the wiki settings to use imagemagick, which is the default image resizer for media wiki and it's not working. Will try to get it fixed soon. Good work on the navbox btw! :)

--Kaneco (talk) 12:17, 5 July 2013 (WEST)

I had a talk with my host support and apparently image magick wasn't even installed on the server, they installed it now but its still not working. I will look into it, probably wrong directory, after that it should work. Btw, alreay had a template for this week maps but yours' is much better :D

Achievements on templates bugged

hey there, the achievements variable on player and team templates are kinda strange, if I try to order them like a bulleted list like here the first item on the list will appear as a * and not a bullet point, can you look into this? I tried solving it but couldn't figure it out.

Maps templates

No problem at all, be my guest! Good to know you're back!

Using the eseacomment templete thing to add UGC HL alternative maps.

So I saw that you added the "Open & IM Playoffs UR1" to the main page. I am trying to add the same for UGC HL to show the alternative maps that can be chosen but it is not working for some reason. I was wondering why. Thanks Merchant (talk)

One more question about map infoboxes and content menus.

I am working on the cp_gullywash_final1 page and have a infobox for it. However the infobox appears at the bottom of the page instead of the top as it does on the cp_badlands page. Also how do you add the contents menu to a page? This can also been seen on the cp_badlands pages. Thanks Merchant (talk)

styling

I'm awful with CSS and I'm not very familiar with media wiki css style so I will give you FTP access (is it enough or do you need anything else?) when I get home from work, no worries, you are doing a great job. --Kaneco (talk) 12:19, 30 July 2013 (WEST)

Oh and by the way, I really like the idea behind the map locations template, I wanted to get to work on something like that but I was unsure how to present it in a user friendly way. And if I get what you mean, you want it to be dynamic with hover-on actions when we pass the mouse on the image or something like that? Am I correct? --Kaneco (talk) 12:22, 30 July 2013 (WEST)

You have sysop rights now I think, at least I set you in the same usergroups as me. I need to talk to you on steam when you're available ! :) If you need anything else let me know. I can still get you ftp access if needed. --Kaneco (talk) 21:33, 30 July 2013 (WEST)

Wow, that template is great, just how I pictured it in my head, exactly what we needed to the map pages.

Will it only work inside those tables tho? or are you able to make the table adjust to the exact size of the image and leave it expanded by default? Also what about editing and adding new spots/ map areas, can it be easily done by other users with no css knowledge or do you need to have css knowledge and have sysop rights to add new ones? --Kaneco (talk) 12:54, 31 July 2013 (WEST)

Creating Infoboxes.

I am trying to create a infobox for use on classes pages. http://comp.tf/wiki/User:Merchant/Template:Classes

Now I am having a couple of problems I was wondering if you could help me with them.

  • {{#if: | {{#if: | {{#if: | appears randomly on the page
  • Attempting an example produces Template:Classes infobox, probably because of where it is hosted at?

Thanks in advance. I really want have a uniform infobox on all of the classes pages.

events template

Hey there, could you take a look at the events template?

Someone tried to updated it to move CEVO to the finished events and it broke the table, I can't really fix it now because I'm at work and I would need some time to figure whats messing it up~ --Kaneco (talk) 16:17, 14 August 2013 (WEST)

Flags should probably be a template.

Hello. Flags is currently an article but should be a template. Both me and Flatline don't really want to try and move it because we don't want to break it. Seeing how you know what you are doing could you move it? Thanks Merchant (talk) 06:56, 25 August 2013 (WEST)

I think flatline intention was to add usage instructions to the flag template like the other templates since it didn't have any, but he didn't know how to do it in the template page itself because he broke the code so he created a standalone page for the template usage instructions, which is the flag page, and he wanted to get it on the template page itself

Thanks!

Just a thanks for helping out on the i55 weekend, made things easier for sure c: --Efefknee (talk) 18:51, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Heh, I can see this leading to a circle of thanks, one always putting it on the other. You didn't at all, you are a very fast updater though, a challenge I found hard to match, heheh. It's my pleasure to help! --Efefknee (talk) 22:14, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
