I'm not sure what the re-arrangement would be, and the fact that there is no 'concrete' grouping for the classes in competitive play leads me to believe that any sort of re-arrangement would be too alienating even for experienced comp players. Then again, if we re-group the classes to fit competitive play, it could become the basis for a competitive grouping of the 9 classes. Re-arrangement[edit]

I had an idea to arrange the classes in a more comp-relevant grouping than the default (Offensive, Defensive, Support) to make the template more competitive-centric. Thinking out loud at this point :] --garlic (talk) 08:03, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

Followup: The Official TF2 Wiki lists a competitive grouping as:
  • Core Classes
    • Medic
    • Demoman
  • Default Classes
    • Soldier
    • Scout
  • Situational Classes
    • Pyro
    • Heavy
    • Engineer
    • Sniper
    • Spy
This is used on the wiki as a navbox at the bottom of each class' competitive pages. Obviously it is quite 6v6 favoured. --garlic (talk) 08:38, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
