The Team Fortress 2 DreamHack Summer 2016 Invitational, commonly refered to as DreamHack Summer 2016 or simply DHS 2016, is the 3rd edition of Team Fortress 2 competition a DreamHack event. DreamHack Summer 2016 is the only international European LAN in 2016 alongside Gamers Assembly 2016 and Insomnia58, and is considered to be one of the most premier events for Team Fortress 2 in the calendar year. It is currently being held in Jönköping, Sweden from 18 June to 19 June 2016.[1][2]
nameLess are the defending champions, having won the Winter 2015 edition (as Reason Gaming).[3] For the first time, a series of online qualifiers were held to decide which teams will compete at the event, as well as a prize of €1000.[4] nameLess, Perilous Gaming, Serpents and SUAVE won these qualifiers,[5][6][7][8] however Serpents and SUAVE were replaced by Comfortably Spanked and Crowns eSports Club after they could not attend the event.[9] An online showmatch was held to fundraise for expenses for these two teams.[10]

Fundraiser showmatch
On 13 June a showmatch between Comfortably Spanked and Crowns eSports Club, organised by teamfortress.tv, was held in order to help raise funds for the teams to attend the event.[10]

Participants
The participating teams were announced June 5, 2016. SUAVE and Serpents, winners of qualifier 2 and qualifier 4 respectively, were both unable to attend the event. Comfortably Spanked and Crowns eSports Club were invited to the event in their places.[11]
Differences from ETF2L 6v6 Season 24 roster
Only nameLess are competing with the same lineup as used in the concurrent ETF2L 6v6 Season 24.[12] Both Crowns eSports Club and Perilous Gaming are using backup players from their roster,[13][14] while Comfortably Spanked have subbed in Setlet from PC MASTER RACE for the event.[15]
