Competitive Community

Chapelaria is a competitive community located in Brazil. It was created having as goal to help more casual players to join the competitive mode of Team Fortress 2. The community hosts 6s tournaments, casual events and will soon host it's first ultiduo tournament.

Organization

Chapelaria is a non-sponsored community created by players for players. Everything is maintained by our staff, from servers to website. The current members of the team are:

Tier System

As the main purpose of the community is to integrate new and experienced players in order to have some knowledge sharing, a system was created to determine a player skill when it comes to competitive mode. The setting at the moment relies on 3 levels of knowledge and playing skills combined.

  • Tier 1 - Players with advanced knowledge and skill on at least one class;
  • Tier 2 - Players with either considering knowledge or great skill (even a bit of both);
  • Tier 3 - Newcomers with either no competitive game sense or low playing skill.

In the future the system will be improved to gather a larger range of classification so players can have their progress more visible as well for some matches to be more balanced.

Competitive

For it's second season, Chapelaria created two divisions, Gladiator and Legatus. Matches are played through 8 maps using Swiss System. The number of rounds depends on how many teams register for the competition. The top teams go to the playoffs and battle in a double-elimination structure until the finals.

Currently the only game mode played is 5CP.

  • Single matches;
  • Match ends when a team wins 5 rounds;
  • Match ends when time limit reaches 30 minutes;
  • Ties are allowed.

The points are attributed according to the match result plus the amount of rounds won by each team (winner and loser):

  • 5 points for victory;
  • 3 points for draw;
  • 1 point for defeat;

Divisions

Chapelaria has two divisions:

All players are welcome to join both divisions, as long as they are located in South America. For Gladiator, the players need to attend to the tier limit imposed to create some balancing and give the newcomers a change to play along experienced players.

Fees and Prizes

To join the Legatus division teams must pay 1 ref per player. Gladiator is free to join as a way to encourage new players to participate.

The participants and winners receive in-game medals, as well for the casters, streamers and all collaborators. The first season had keys for prize along the medals.
