nameLess are the defending champions, having won the Winter 2015 edition (as Reason Gaming).[3] For the first time, a series of online qualifiers were held to decide which teams will compete at the event, as well as a prize of €1000.[4] nameLess, Perilous Gaming, Serpents and SUAVE won these qualifiers,[5][6][7][8] however Serpents and SUAVE were replaced by Comfortably Spanked and Crowns eSports Club after they could not attend the event.[9] An online showmatch was held to fundraise for expenses for these two teams.[10]

The event was closed by the DreamHack staff right before the fifth and final map of the grand final was played. As yet, no decision has been made as to whether the match will be played online, during another event (potentially during i58) or whether the prizes will be split between the top two teams and the match will be called a draw.
