5CP (5 Control Points) is the most commonly played gamemode in competitive Team Fortress 2.  It consist of 5 Control Points on a symmetrical map.  Teams begin with locked control of their closest two points, and the midfight decides who gets control of the middle point first.  The second point of the loser of the midfight is unlocked, and play continues linearly, unlocking each next point as the previous one is captured until one team controls all five.
